(国際東宝株式会社, Kokusai Tōhō Kabushiki Gaisha) is an American company headquartered in Los Angeles, California.[3] It is a subsidiary of TOHO Global Inc. (TOHO Global 株式会社, Tōhō Gurōbaru Kabushiki Gaisha), which is itself owned by Toho Co., Ltd.[6] Founded in 1953, Toho International is responsible for the licensing and marketing of Toho's films and other properties for release outside of Japan.[2] In recent times, the company has begun pursuing an English-language social media presence for the Godzilla brand, launching official YouTube, Twitter, and Instagram accounts, as well as the website Godzilla.com and its built-in Godzilla Store. Its current parent company TOHO Global was established on July 20, 2023, and adopted Toho International from Toho Co. that October 1.[7][6] |
