History

Millennium era

Godzilla Against Mechagodzilla

Years ago, Tokumitsu Yuhara's wife died, leaving him and their young daughter Sara behind. His personal dream, likely inspired by his wife's death, was to save individuals, and even whole species, from extinction by putting their muscles and nerves into robotic exoskeletons. This work attracted the attention of the Japanese government, hoping to use Yuhara's talents to construct a bio-robot from the first Godzilla's skeleton to battle the second Godzilla. Initially, Yuhara turned down the offer to work on the machine, as he felt his first duty was to raise his daughter, but took the offer when he was allowed to take his daughter with him. He extracted cells from the original Godzilla's spine, allowing development of the weapon, named Kiryu, to begin. Yuhara became attracted to Akane Yashiro, a member of the Kiryu team who befriended his daughter. He said that if Kiryu defeated Godzilla, he would buy Akane dinner to congratulate her, and if Kiryu lost he would still buy her dinner, as the creator would owe her an apology. He and another scientist discovered that Godzilla's roar was causing Kiryu to malfunction, and made the necessary software repairs to Kiryu to counteract this. He comforted Sara as she was worried for both Kiryu and Akane when they were battling Godzilla. After Kiryu and Godzilla's battle, Yuhara congratulated Akane, who said it was a draw and that for this reason, she would buy him dinner instead.

GODZILLA: Project Mechagodzilla

Tokumitsu Yuhara was the Director of the Specific Biology Research Group at the European Molecular Biology Laboratory, and a pupil of Wilhelm Kirchner, a leading expert on Godzilla research. He studied samples of Godzilla's cells under Kirchner at the United Nations Anti-Godzilla Biological Protection Facility in Antarctica, initially with the purpose of uncovering the secrets of Godzilla's biology. Yuhara determined that genes similar to moth DNA were attached to fragments of Godzilla's dorsal plates found near Rio de Janeiro in 2037, the same year that a giant poisonous larva had been reported in South America. As his research continued, Yuhara became increasingly concerned about the dangers of G-Cells and the influence they had on others, worrying that his mentor Dr. Kirchner was attempting to clone Godzilla. When the Bilusaludo obtained a sample of G-Cells, Yuhara warned about the risks associated with attempting to weaponize the cells.[1]
