@GodzillaIsland7.2 I've long since altered the outline for my rewrite, and I've actually started work on it for real. You can find the beginnings of it here.
But to answer your question, I plan on having it so that Rodan is on Ghidorah's side up until the Boston fight. But he gradually starts to grow tired of being bossed around by him, so when he sees Godzilla and Mothra show up to challenge him, he switches over to their side when he gets the opportunity. Something like that.
