Doesn't Death Battle just combine all incarnations of a character into one for their battles?

With characters with multiple incarnations, like Link from Legend of Zelda, Spider-Man, Deadpool, and Godzilla himself, they take the best traits of each incarnation and combine them, except if one is drasticallydifferext from the other incarnations. But for Dragonzord VS Mechagodzilla, not only do they show Kiryu in both the teaser trailer and the thumbnail, a tweet from the creator of the show Ben B. Singer himself stated that Mechagodzilla will be piloted by Akane Yashiro, proving that it is that specific incarnation of the character.
