King Ghidorah in Godzilla vs Kong?

39
Kaijuzill (talkcontribs)

one of the trailer leaks say that he's tied up in chains,in a cavarn. What do you all guys think?

AngiraBlu (talkcontribs)

Heard about it. Sounds a little weird, because of how OP King Ghidorah usually is. Plus, it wouldn't be the 1st time he's "come back from the dead." In Rebirth of Mothra 3, he regrew from a severed tail and it's been pointed out that he could regrow from the severed wing, from the movie's final battle. Overall, he's practically unkillable, as long as some piece of him is still intact. (*Which seems to conveniently happen, a lot.....Lookin' at you, writers!*)

Since Destoroyah's the Doomsday to Godzilla's Superman, it's safe to say that KG's the Frieza to Godzilla's Goku. Except he's more like a hybrid of Frieza, Cell, Majin Buu, Doomsday, Lobo, and Deadpool. Which sounds A LOT MORE TERRIFYING!!! O_O

Kaijuzill (talkcontribs)

tell Astounding Beyond Belief about it.

AngiraBlu (talkcontribs)

Which part?

Astounding Beyond Belief (talkcontribs)

I am already far too aware.

AngiraBlu (talkcontribs)

I think it's safe to say that ANY die-hard Godzilla fan's gonna probably know about leaks [*real*] and "leaks" [*fake*].

Astounding Beyond Belief (talkcontribs)

To be clear: I would rather not be. Leaks are seldom interesting; social media just keeps throwing them at me.

JurassicKaiju14 (talkcontribs)

"one of the trailer leaks say that he's tied up in chains,in a cavarn. What do you all guys think?"

I think that's one of the stupidest ideas I've ever heard. Not from you, understand. I mean in general, that's such a stupid idea that A) I don't think anyone would fall for it, and B) I am really, really hoping it is fake. Because, I repeat, it's a stupid idea. I mean...run that sentence through your head; King Ghidorah chained up in a cavern. King Ghidorah...the thing that survived 1000+ years in cryogenic stasis and the Oxygen Destroyer, the thing that almost killed Godzilla, a force of extraterrestrial fury that cannot be contained...is chained up in a cavern like a Ray Harryhausen dragon.

See the problem there?

SkullIslandExplorer (talkcontribs)

I never believe those “leaks”.

AngiraBlu (talkcontribs)

Exactly. I mean, WHO'S EVEN GOT THE GUTS TO CHAIN UP KING FREAKIN' GHIDORAH?!?!?! Destoroyah? Probably!

SkullIslandExplorer (talkcontribs)

How can Ghidorah even be chained up?

AngiraBlu (talkcontribs)

EXACTLY! HOW?!

It took Hera, Poseidon, Apollo, and Athena to chain/tie up Zeus, during the short-lived Olympian Rebellion. The only way he got out was with help from the sea goddess/Achilles's mother Thetis and the Hecatoncheire Briareus (one of the 100-armed, 50-headed giant gods, as well as one of Zeus's 11 uncles [5 Titans, 3 Gasterocheire/Elder Cyclopes, and 3 Hecatoncheires]) to get him out and have him deal with the less powerful backstabbers.

The point I'm trying to make is that you can't contain a storm. Especially when that storm is a living being.

Kaijuzill (talkcontribs)

I have the video about the backlash of Godzilla Anime Trilogy, it was yesterday's edit.

SkullIslandExplorer (talkcontribs)

That really isn’t a good video. While Omni Viewer is one of my faves, my biggest problem with him is how he handled the Anime Trilogy “controversy”. All I saw/heard was exasperation on a topic that can be ignored. I especially didn’t like how he handled the whole thing about Seshita and Shizuno enjoying being “bashed by the traditionalists” (I know, I sound like a hypocrite. Because there are comments I made where I did nothing but shit on Seshita and Shizuno, and attacked people for liking the Anime Trilogy. All I have to say is that I’m sorry for doing that, and I learned from it. But let’s focus on the topic). While he’s not a bad YouTuber by any means (frankly, I’d love to meet him), he needs to stop injecting his bias in everything (I’m not saying he should completely stop. I’m saying he shouldn’t be biased on most things, or on important topics. I don’t know, correct me if you want). And honestly, I could see how and why Seshita and Shizuno chose that direction (I treat it like a Godzilla Elseworlds. Sure it wasn’t perfect, but since when were stories perfect?), though, the situation would’ve been better had Seshita not say anything before Planet Eater’s release. Or after it’s release, say something like, “Yeah, we wanted to do something different, but somehow, our ideas sounded a lot better on paper than they did as results.” And I have no problem with the Anime Trilogy (I like Planet of the Monsters and its manga adaptation a lot better), I think it would’ve been better as a TV Show (with better animation) or a big ass manga series than cramming everything into 3, 2 hour movies. (And on a side note: I wish the prequel novels had English releases. Just sayin’)

AngiraBlu (talkcontribs)

I hate it when people talk crap about the anime trilogy. There's absolutely nothing wrong with it! It's merely an interesting take on some of the kaiju. It's basically a giant "What if…?" scenario.

"What if Godzilla was a mountain-sized plant with electromagnetic abilities and killed off most of the kaiju (*Mothra's egg and MG/MG City*), as well as most of humanity?"

"What if Mechagodzilla was built by both humans AND aliens and was made out of a nanomachine-based metal that could evolve?"

"What if King Ghidorah was an eldritch energy being that devoured planets, like Galactus and Unicron?"

JurassicKaiju14 (talkcontribs)

@AngiraBlu I haven't actually watched the anime trilogy, but I have read up on the story and characters and such, so I feel I pretty much know what it's about and what's involved. And I personally don't like it. Just some of the concepts themselves make me facepalm.

Admittedly, there are some concepts that I think could have worked. For instance:

"What if King Ghidorah was an eldritch energy being that devoured planets, like Galactus and Unicron?" I don't know who those last two are, but I actually love the idea of Ghidorah being an eldritch monstrosity. I'd totally be down for that. Maybe have him possessing people or even monsters to his bidding. I liked the concept of the aliens being under his control rather than the other way around.

"What if Mechagodzilla was built by both humans AND aliens and was made out of a nanomachine-based metal that could evolve?" There's another one that I like. A combination of his Showa and Heisei/Millennium origins. And I like the idea of the nanometal as well; imagine Mechagodzilla suddenly growing a Gipsy-Danger style sword out of wrists, or being able to regenerate broken pieces of machinery in a fight or whatnot. That I like.

But then there's other stuff that I just don't think works. "What if Godzilla was a mountain-sized plant with electromagnetic abilities?" From the get-go, that sounds sounds nothing like Godzilla. Part of what makes Godzilla work is that he's almost always an allegory for nuclear power in some way, or is at the very least a prehistoric force of nature. Suddenly switching him from an irradiated prehistoric reptile to a hyper-evolved electromagnetic plant just demolishes the character entirely. If you wanted to see that, then why not just make a completely new monster and give them those attributes?

At the end of the day, they're all just ideas. But ideas and execution go hand-in-hand, and I'm not convinced the trilogy did a good job.

If you like the Anime trilogy, that's fine. It's totally within your right to do so, and I know you have your reasons. But I don't like it, and I have every right to do so as well, and I have my own reasons.

That, and I'm just not into anime anyway.

SkullIslandExplorer (talkcontribs)

@AngiraBlu: EXACTLY what I just said, “I treat it like a Godzilla Elseworlds”. (Yeah, I only like DC. Sue me. Also, check your Talk Page)

@JurassicKaiju14: Galactus is from Marvel, and Unicron is from Transformers. Also, the Anime Trilogy’s ideas weren’t bad, what was bad was cramming them into 3 movies instead of expanding them in a TV show.

“I’m just not into anime anyway.” Aha! No wonder you couldn’t figure out the references to JoJo, Bleach, RWBY, and My Hero Academia.

But back at the main topic: I have absolutely no idea where people get these “leaks” for movies. Maybe they do it to troll. Or they’re punks with nothing better to do.

AngiraBlu (talkcontribs)

Right. Just thinking of people who might not be too familiar with the Elseworlds term. (*There I go being nice, again.*) Chillax-ensy about the DC thing. I like DC as well.

And just throwing this out there, I think it's cool how both multiverses include OUR Earth, as well. In Marvel, they call it "Earth-1218." While in DC, they call it "Earth 33."

(*Note: There's also an "Earth-33" in Marvel. Only differences are that it's hyphenated and has a powerless Fantastic Four working as government agents, in the '50s and '60s. There's also an "Earth-33 1/3," but no one cares about that one. There's also an "Earth-33" in DC, but it occurred during Infinite Crisis and everything runs on magic, rather than science. So, it's basically Guilty Gear, but in DC Comics. [Who else smells a potential crossover?]*)

Plus, (if no one else knows about this, by now) there's also Marvel Anime AND the Transformers franchise could very well be considered an anime franchise. Seriously, look up ANYTHING relating Transformers to Japan and you'll be in for the shock of a lifetime!

Plus, Marvel DID own Godzilla AND Transformers, at a couple points in time.

JurassicKaiju14 (talkcontribs)

"Yeah, I only like DC. Sue me." Nothin' wrong with that. Outside of Spider-Man, I generally like DC more than Marvel.

"Also, check your Talk Page" Just did. Is there something there I'm supposed to see?

SkullIslandExplorer (talkcontribs)

That was to AngiraBlu. Hence why the @s.

JurassicKaiju14 (talkcontribs)

Oh. Sorry for the confusion.

Astounding Beyond Belief (talkcontribs)

Summaries are no substitute for actual viewings.

JurassicKaiju14 (talkcontribs)

True. I really ought to actually watch them someday. Just rattling off my initial impressions.

JurassicKaiju14 (talkcontribs)

(deleted; moved to proper reply spot)

JurassicKaiju14 (talkcontribs)

Also, how did this go from a fake trailer leak to the anime trilogy? I'm confused.

SkullIslandExplorer (talkcontribs)

IDK. How many loaves of bread have you eaten in your lifetime? XD

Kaijuzill (talkcontribs)

What are the Godzilla films that Gareth had seen, apart from the 1954 film and Destroy all Monsters?

Kaijuzill (talkcontribs)

the Kobun Shizuno Page told that he only seen the 2014 film and Shin Godzilla.

AngiraBlu (talkcontribs)
Kaijuzill (talkcontribs)

WAIT!!, you know Methlokaiju?

AngiraBlu (talkcontribs)

I watch his stuff, every so often, yes. Don't know if anyone can see it, but I posted this comment: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3YI-SMkeFDo&lc=Ugx5iJE-1UVDo5_M_Z94AaABAg.

(Just checked on my Google Chrome and no, seems like only YouTube users can.)

(For those who don't have YouTube accounts, this is what I said:

"It wouldn't be the 1st time that he came back from the dead. He came back from a severed tail, back in Rebirth of Mothra 3. Plus, it's been hinted that he could regenerate from the severed wing, from the film's final battle.

They could probably use electricity and/or radiation to jumpstart his regeneration. Cuz it's possible that KG's still somewhat alive.

In Dragon Ball, Marvel, and DC terms, he's basically a hybrid of Frieza (*bent on universal conquest, holds grudges against those who manage to defeat him, can survive practically anywhere, and once came back as a cyborg*), Cell (*has the DNA of Frieza, a couple of Saiyans, and Piccolo and can completely regrow from a mere cell*), Majin Buu (*world-ravager and can reform/regrow from bits of himself*), Deadpool, Lobo, and Doomsday.")

Kaijuzill (talkcontribs)

I watch his,Dman1954 and Omni viewer's stuff and even, I also subscribed to their channel.

AngiraBlu (talkcontribs)

Same with D Man. Also, Mr H Reviews, Alteori, MIB, DangeVille, SciFi Explained, and, of course, Wikizilla. Not sure if I've seen Omni Viewer yet, though. I might've, but I just can't remember.

JurassicKaiju14 (talkcontribs)

I've been watching Omni Viewer, Dman1954, DangerVille, and Alteori.

VaderRaptor (talkcontribs)

I've seen and subscribed to Dman 1954, DangerVille, MIB, DangerVille, and Wikizilla. I occasionally watch Omni Viewer, SciFi Explained and Alteori.

JurassicKaiju14 (talkcontribs)

Oh, yeah, I'm subscribed to Wikizilla too.

VaderRaptor (talkcontribs)

Aren't we all?

JurassicKaiju14 (talkcontribs)

Kind of pessimistic, I know, but I can't help but wonder how many people will jump off the hype train once they realize that Millie Bobbie Brown and Kyle Chandler's characters are coming back for this movie when the trailer drops. If they hated them as much as they did in KOTM, there's a good chance it'll sour their initial impressions of GvK.

Kaijuzill (talkcontribs)

I'm subscribed to wikizilla too.
