In Eyes of Heaven, when Old Joseph interacts with the Pillar Men, the Pillar Men state that there’s a strange presence near them (referring to Hermit Purple). Which means that the Pillar Men can’t see Stands, but are aware of their presence. Though, EoH is a video game, so it may not be true.
