Granted, Japan and America sometimes have very different conceptions of what that means re:violence, but I've never seen anything in an Ultra Series episode that's gorier than, say, the recent Hollywood kaiju films. My go-to show for people getting into Ultraman is ''Max''. You'll laugh, you'll cry (I mean it), you'll see some extremely strange things, and you won't have to worry about continuity one bit. You can stream the English dub (it's one of the few shows that has one, at least for all the episodes) on Toku.
