How is Urusei Yatsura not necessary?

Our decision is final and this conversation is getting nowhere. Take your temper tantrums elsewhere.

It's not only produced by Toho, but Godzilla 1954 is shown, the cultural festival marks the only other time Megalon's been in a film, is the only film in the Urusei Yatsura history to be done by Toho, dubbed in American, shown on National TV, and several other aspects. I think it deserves a page, Les.

But it was LITERALLY PRODUCED BY TOHO.

Les (talkcontribs)

So? The My Hero Academia movie was distributed by Toho and has an officially licensed appearance of Godzilla's likeness, but we don't have a page for that. A handful of kaiju cameos does not automatically justify a page, regardless of who it was produced by. As I said, these moments can be just as easily, and more conveniently, compiled on the pop culture page.

Lamango (talkcontribs)

That's DISTRIBUTED. Produced is literally Toho MAKING it.

Lamango (talkcontribs)

Toho DISTRIBUTED the Gamera trilogy. Toho PRODUCED all the Godzilla films. See what I mean?

Les (talkcontribs)

I'm aware of what produce means Lamango, thank you. The page does not need to exist. Your contribution is appreciated, but I'm asking that you not continue to edit war with us on this. You can add the information and images to Godzilla in popular culture.

Lamango (talkcontribs)

This is BS, Les.

Lamango (talkcontribs)

We literally have BS like MegaShark that has literally nothing to do with Toho on the site, but god forbid we add an anime that Toho produced, I guess. Guess we gotta make Dinocroc and Supergator part of this site too.

Les (talkcontribs)

Adding those was not my decision, and personally I'm not fond of them being included either. But Toho having produced a film does not make it automatically within our scope. These cameos warrant a trivia footnote at best, not an entire page for a movie which is otherwise completely unrelated to anything. For the third time, it can go on the pop culture page. It is not being erased from existence, the information can be included, it just doesn't need to be that prominent.

Lamango (talkcontribs)

And I say it warrants it's own page, as it's the only one of the four films to be produced by Toho, widely released, and critically acclaimed. Now if you'll excuse me, I'mma make the Whalewolf page and Pirahnaconda.

Les (talkcontribs)

Akira Kurosawa's films are produced by Toho, widely released and critically acclaimed. Your point is?

Lamango (talkcontribs)

And they'd be more relevant then Gorgo, Reptilicus, Sharknado, Sharktopus, Super Croc and everything else non-related to this wiki that's on here.

Les (talkcontribs)

They may well be in the grand scheme of things. Doesn't mean a wiki about giant special effects monsters is going to start making pages about period dramas and war films. The site has a scope within which all content must fall to warrant inclusion. A random Toho anime that happens to have split-second Godzilla cameos does not need its own page. That decision is final.

Lamango (talkcontribs)

"split second" literally 4 minutes of the film is them watching Godzilla 1954.

Lamango (talkcontribs)

Also, most of the 'pop culture' page is lifted DIRECTLY from Toho Kingdom. I'd know, I'm the one who added most of those. :/

Les (talkcontribs)

Yes, a large portion were plagiarized and we made that no secret. It was an old and messy page, but we've been working to convert it to a cleaner format. Many of the images have been replaced with higher quality versions and as far as I know all of the plagiarism has been rewritten. If there is any more you can spot, feel free to tell us.

Lamango (talkcontribs)

All the Urusei Yatsura ones on there are DIRECTLY from me. Lmfao. I even have them in my folder still.

Les (talkcontribs)

Please compare them with the Toho Kingdom page, I think you will find they are quite different. Plus nobody is stopping you from rewriting them further.

Lamango (talkcontribs)

Also, Pokemon and DBZ get their own pages, but Urusei Yatsura gets booted off? Bias.

Astounding Beyond Belief (talkcontribs)

Also, you plagiarized four different sections from the film's Wikipedia page.

Lamango (talkcontribs)

I'm still in the process of editing, Astounding.
