Allosaurus (talkcontribs)

Hi! Yesterday you deleted Jurassic Park article. The reason was: «Unrelated to anything on the wiki». But I have four reasonns, why we can have articles about Jurassic Park and Jurassic World films. First reason: Jurassic Park is a giant monster film. Yes, dinosaurs in film aren't oversized, but they are giant. Second reason: Steven Spielberg cited Godzilla as an inspiration for Jurassic Park (1993), specifically Godzilla, King of the Monsters! (1956), which he saw in his youth. During its production, Spielberg described Godzilla as "the most masterful of all the dinosaur movies because it made you believe it was really happening." Third reason: One scene in the second movie (The Lost World: Jurassic Park), the T-Rex is rampaging through San Diego. One scene shows Japanese businessmen fleeing. One of them states that they left Japan to get away from this, hinting that Godzilla shares the same universe as the Jurassic Park movies. Fourth reason: Baby Zillas scenes in Godzilla (1998) are based on Velociraptor scenes from Jurassic Park. We have articles about Pacific Rim films, but we haven't articles about Pacific Rim characters and kaiju. We can also have articles about Jurassic Park films, but we cannot have articles about Jurassic Park characters and dinosaurs. Than why we cannot have these articles?

Astounding Beyond Belief (talkcontribs)

This wiki isn't meant to cover all giant monster movies - we don't have the various American big bug movies from the 50's, for instance - and the connections you've brought up aren't nearly strong enough to justify making six new film pages. Incidentally, the line "I moved from Tokyo to get away from all this!" isn't in the English version of The Lost World. Supposedly it's in the Japanese dub, but none of our editors have checked yet.

It is kind of amusing how, over the years, Godzilla and Tyrannosaurus Rex have inspired eachother. Godzilla owes his iconic design to the Tyrannosaurus, and many of Tyrannosaurus pop culture moments are taken from Godzilla. Long live the King of Monsters and the King of Dinosaurs.
