A Shin Godzilla sequel was never in the works to begin with (and I'm not sure what anime director that could even be).
But what is Shin Ghidorah then?
It's from the Godzilla vs. Evangelion: The Real 4-D short film that played at Universal Studios Japan.
No sequel was in the works.
