Why don't you think that was a reliable source? It states Kong as 50 feet, just like his page.

Joke answer: The same page says a T-Rex could give Godzilla "a run for his money." Instantly disqualifying.
Real answer: This is a children's magazine published over 20 years after the De Laurentiis Kong came out with no connection to the film; there is no particular reason to think the weight stat it provides is official and not just something the author made up. (Of course, all of this is made up, but the source matters.) Both of the Toho Kong stats it gives are wrong as well.
