Could you Please Stop spacing it im not trying to boss a mod here around but its just that the Teaser trailer literally spells it like that and that should be treated as the official spelling

the English teaser trailer confirms this is the official English spelling even if it isn't "Grammatically correct" its still what the creators of the film call it

This is literally also in the trailer a minute later.
"Virus King" makes far more sense. Wait until the movie gets picked up by an American distributor and we'll see how it's spelled.

the trailer also has a typo calling Giant Teacher "Gaint Teacher" if thats an indicator of anything

the Sci fi japan article went with and earlier in the trailer is Spelt VirusKing just because something "makes sense" doesnt automatically mean its the proper exact name or thing it should be

I'm pretty sure they are going with that spelling with the movie itself given that spelling was quite literally under the monster in an introductory way..

Les (talkcontribs)

Okay... so if you acknowledge the trailer has other errors, why are we picking and choosing?

SciFi Japan's press release for The Great Yokai War: Guardians also called Daimajin "Bushin" - they're not exactly the paragon of official spellings.

i don't think VirusKing is an error given the fact it was in a big stylized letter thing right in front of the kaiju which i think would be harder to mess up

while Gaint teacher was in a much smaller less stylized text

i also made an edit to the last post that should be reread i think

Zillaman98 (talkcontribs)

Unrelated but I'm not sure if it was forgotten about but i still needed help with the japanese on my singular point character sandboxes

Les (talkcontribs)

You're right, I did forget. I'll get to them soon.

The telop on Virus King might just be smooshed together and isn't even meant to be one word. Even if we assume it definitely says "VirusKing," the exact same trailer also uses "Virus King" so they are equally valid. It doesn't really matter what font one is written in. You also have to remember these are non-English speaking people writing out text in English, so some of it is going to be wonky. Even the title "Yuzo the Biggest Battle in Tokyo" is kind of weird with no punctuation. If SRS or someone releases the movie on home video and translate it "Virus King," I'd place that over the Engrish trailer.

Zillaman98 (talkcontribs)

alright I'm gonna be honest

besides what i assumed is official..i just think VirusKing sounds cooler which is one reason I preferred that spelling but i should put bias aside
