sirenjaw and spirit tiger

what exactly is the issue with the spirit tiger image?

its official artwork and its a much better image than the image it had originally plus its basically the final design anyway even if its from a game that isn't even out yet but when has that stopped us from adding stuff that hasnt been released before?

as for the sirenjaw are you sure its not from a campaign expansion addon to the tabletop game? the current game has a campaign with a name as well

i really don't understand why you really are hesitant with adding any of this stuff.

The point is that, until they're published, these are essentially concept art. With Spirit Tiger, I don't expect the design to change, but they might not even use that piece of art in the book. I again point to this Snarehunter piece which was massively reworked into this. We've never used concept art in an infobox unless it's for something scrapped. Right now Kingdom Kong is the Sprit Tiger's most recent appearance.

The Sirenjaw is the same deal, but with an even higher probability of being reworked, since they're depicting a part of his body that's never been shown before. You're treating conceptual images as though they are finalized art, which they're not. I don't see what's so hard about just waiting for the game to come out.

What I got from the Kickstarter is that it's a separate book with a brand-new campaign. It doesn't really sound like an "expansion", they're treating it as a new project.

i feel with monsters only ever seen in drawn form exceptions should be made honestly the comic panels don't look very good as a main image at all personally

if its even not the finalized piece of art that ends up being used i still thought it was an acceptable image for an infobox for the time being.

the artstyle of the sirenjaws image looks to be in the same style as the other finalized pieces of art we got(the early Valkyrie art doesn't quite seem to be the same artstyle) where is it said that its just a concept?

i changed the Death Jackal image was also changed to its artwork from the game simply because its a visually better image for the creature.

Methuselahs page uses lineart from the Dominion comic for it's infobox image on the basis that it shown more.

also why are we waiting for it to come out when info for various other things that haven't came out been added to the site before?

another few examples are what about the Renders of various other monsters?

The images for Kong are a render from a poster and a concept model of his finalized Kong Skull island design

another example is the Alien Craft from 10 Cloverfield lane using a render of its final model because we never get a clear shot of it in the film wouldn't that count as using "concept art"?

i don't think its recent appearance should have any bearing on it's infobox image but rather clarity of an image should (specifically for monsters whos designs do not change)

I never said there was anything wrong with using illustrations. But those pieces are from PUBLISHED books. We know they're final because you can physically see them there in the book. Who knows how far away we are from seeing this next RPG published; anything can happen from then til now.

It doesn't need to be "said" that they're concepts. The blog post where the Snarehunter pic was posted made no indication of whether that picture was final or not, but we can tell that it wasn't because it's not in the book. We have no way to verify these images are in the new RPG because it doesn't exist yet. If they don't show up, or show up in altered form, then they would be concept art. And until it's proven that they are in the book, I think it's fine to call them that.
