I'm a huge Godzilla and Gamera fan. All you really need to know.
My favorite era of Kaiju eiga as a whole is the Heisei era. I especially love Godzilla vs. Mechagodzilla II, Godzilla vs. King Ghidorah, Godzilla vs. Destoroyah, and Godzilla vs. Biollante as well as the Heisei Gamera Trilogy. I do also love some entries from the Showa Godzilla series, like Gojira (of course) and Mothra vs. Godzilla but I don't really care for the Showa Gamera series. I find the first three to be pretty good but the rest to be bad; I either only like the fights or don't like anything. The Millennium Godzilla Series I really like, with some of my all-time favorites being Godzilla, Mothra and King Ghidorah: Giant Monsters All-Out Attack, Godzilla: Tokyo S.O.S., and Godzilla vs. Megaguirus. I also love Pacific Rim to death, great film, but the sequel is garbage.
What my ratings mean:
- 10/10 - Awesome, love everything about it. I was entertained through the entire thing and I really, really enjoyed it.
- 9/10 - I have a couple minor issues but still REALLY good!
- 8/10 - I have a few more problems but I still enjoyed it a lot.
- 7/10 - Pretty average, enjoyed it but not as much as other entries.
- 6/10 - Quite a few problems but there are plenty of things I enjoy.
- 5/10 - LOTS of problems but still got some enjoyment out of it, even from non-fight scenes.
- 4/10 - Only good thing was the fights.
- 3/10 - Lackluster in even the action category.
- 2/10 - Like 1 or 2 neat things, everything else is trash.
- 1/10 - Literally nothing good here.
