Hello I am new to the site and wanted to flesh out some of the Military Vehicles seen in some of the Godzilla films I have already started one and wish for some help and tips about how to use the site and what to do to get the article approved

Right now this only has a passing resemblance to other vehicle pages on the site. The MBAW-93 page is a decent model to follow. One thing you'll need is the vehicle infobox template - it's a purple icon with the Oxygen Destroyer inside it.

Flip History (rename Appearances) and Capabilities. The Godzilla vs. Mothra and Godzilla: Tokyo SOS sections in particular should be more descriptive - what was the context for those appearances?

Well thats the Problem I know they appear in those films but I haven't actually seen them to be more descriptive but I didnt want to leave them blank

This Is also the same Issue for the Type 99 Self propelled Howitzer for Shin Godzilla and the Type 87 Type 87 Armored Reconnaissance Vehicle for a few Godzilla and Gamera films I know they appear in the films but haven't seen the films in question to know exactly when they appear and in how many movies. I am also Aware the Type 16 Maneuver Combat Vehicle Appears in film and other material after 2015 such as Shin Godzilla and a few other works but Dont have the full knowledge on them in Godzilla films I just wish to fill in their Real world info as best I can since thats what I know most about these vehicles.

I try to avoid linking to that site directly, as the films only stay there as long as Toho doesn't challenge them, but just search for the titles and they should pop up readily.

In that case, try searching the film title paired with "archive.org" in Google; sometimes the title of the upload is vague but the files themselves are clearly labeled.

Hiya, you'll probably remember me as that logo guy from one of Les' topics, well I need your help with getting something straight. You see as a side hobby I like messing around with the logos and posters of the films, when recently doing this I extracted some of the logos from the International title cards and posters to make reconstructions of the International versions of the films. While that isn't necessarily significant to my question, what is is that because I extracted some of the logos from the International posters/title cards I was wondering if I could upload my extracted logos for TROG and vs. Biollante since they appear to be higher quality images compared to the ones currently used on the nav-boxes, not saying this to brag, my work is still amateurish and I presume TROG's logo on the navbox is extracted from one of the VHS tapes of the International version so I mean no offence. I also noticed that the GvB logo that I extracted uses the International "VS" logo compared to the one on the navbox which uses the thinner "VS" used on the US VHS. I didn't want to edit the navigation logos without your permission since I noticed you were the one who uploaded them, I was also given warnings/disclaimers when attempting to upload my versions (as a test edit) and I didn't want to cause any issues when uploading them, so I would be greatly thankful if you specified how I edit files uploaded to the site. If you want to see what the logos look like beforehand I'll try and find a way to link them.

P.S. In case you're wondering, the two sources for the logos was a higher quality version of TROG's poster (which I uploaded onto the site) and an International pamphlet for GvB (also uploaded onto the site).

hey man! Sorry for leaving you hanging, work has been killing me. The Destoroyah logo will be hard to extract due to the shimmer effect, but I can try it. I like thr SONY logos, and the vhs one is a bit tall for a navbox, but we've fudged that kind of thing before (see GMK lol). That said you can just upload them as new files without overwriting the others. Again I'd love to see what you mean if you have any visuals :)

That said i think the ROG one is taken from a VHS rip or maybe the DVD... so pretty much anything would be better than that lol.

Anyhow, you can upload new versions of files to overwrite them, but given that these are distinct enough, they should be alright by themselves.

If you arent comfortable with your skill level, you can link me images of the ones you propose are better and I can get to work on them.

Like I said, I’m an amateur and the TROG logo I extracted is only slightly better than the current navbox one. I’m sure that when 84 eventually gets a 4K Blu-Ray in Japan they’ll include the export trailer as a bonus, then I can just extract that and recolour it to match the red logo.

Hmm. I'll keep it real with you man, the photos we have available for the VHS covers are a bit hard to work with due to their size/distance/coloring from the camera snap. That said, I'll see what I can do.

While these are official English logos in the context of Toho in general, they are not material from Toho International proper. Just wanted to put that out there, but I'm sure y'all are aware of that.

Hey Space Hunter M, I don’t think I’ve ever seen Toho International logos for any of the Heisei/Millennium films from Mechagodzilla II - Megaguirus (aside from the International title cards which I’m not counting on here). Though if I were to guess, Toho International’s logos for these films would probably be very similar to the ones seen on these covers as the retail VHS cover for Godzilla vs. Mothra uses a similar logo used on the International pamphlet I recently uploaded onto the site, plus the Megaguirus font is the same on both the VHS cover and the International, superimposed, title card (not a big thing but I thought it was worth noting).

Update: Found an even higher quality source for the International TROG logo, uploaded that and the GVB logos onto the navboxes. You can delete my separate files for both the TROG and GVB logos.

we were actually just discussing an overhaul to the era icons. I don't see why Gorgo shouldn't have one :)

hate to bother again but i was curious if Mother Longlegs should get its own icon now since it has appeared in multiple Monsterverse related media now and is even appearing in the Godzilla centric Monarch: Legacy of Monsters.

Same question also applies to the Leafwing since they have also appeared in both Godzilla and Kong related media now

so im just curious as to why exactly did you make charlie a page already when the characters history isn't filled out and is missing a personality section shouldn't it be in sandbox?

While I appreciate your civility in the message here, and I assume good intent in all your actions, I just want to give you an informal warning about doing stuff like that before talking to someone. While I am not here to boost my ego and tell you that what I say goes, as I am a site administrator, would it be too much to ask that you not assume I don't know what I'm doing? Blanking a page because you disagree with it is not something we take lightly here, regardless of who made it. If you wanted to put the deletion marker in, thats your call, but I strongly advise you to take matters like this to staff members before making these kinds of calls. Once again, I am operating under the assumption that your intentions were and are in the best of faith, but the ways you treat fellow editors can come off as rude at best and egotistical at worst. I am not here to leverage accusations against you, in part because you are a diligent editor, and I believe you are acting with pure intentions, but I cannot stress enough how blanking a page like that is unacceptable. This is not a strike or a warning or however you'd like to put it, but a reminder that this is a collaborative space, where we all have to work together for the sake of accuracy in our information, and taking these personal choices without consulting others is not how we try to operate.

Now to answer your question. Sandboxes are for incomplete/fringe pages. We have been trying to clean up some of the oldest pages here from a time when such work was considered acceptable. That said, while a stub may not be ideal, it is still a viable page waiting for expansion, and our dedication to sandboxes have sort of backfired in a way, as now few people can locate the pages to work on them, but that is beside the point. I have put a lot of work into television characters and monsters, and while I have tried to fix them up to current standard, few if any yet contain detailed accounts of their roles in each episode. I am working to fix this, but, many empty history-based subheaddings does not make an article fit for deletion or relegation to a sandbox. The page, when published, had a solid foundation from which to build, and I, or any other editor could add to it. As I said, this is a collaborative site. If the Charlie sandbox from before I began work on it today had been published, with no history, no text, and no image, that would be fit for sandboxing. I will not pretend that it is/was complete, as few if any pages are, but it was a start. Perhaps I should have used the Under Construction header, but I digress. In response to the ither part of your query, we arent really set on if personality sections should be in character pages, as its not always the case that there is enough to say that wouldn't fit elsewhere in the page, or be self explanatory by the character's actions, but this is currently being discussed.

Now I realize I can be long winded. Did that make sense to you? Do you have any questions? I'm glad to help if you do.

i was acting in good faith i just assumed you forgot about the sandbox for a moment and i actually initially thought it was a sandbox until i looked at it again.

plus there are a few sandboxes with even more than what Charlie's page had and still haven't been published yet.

Its all good, man. Like I said, the sandboxes have kind of morphed into their own set of problems compared to those they were created to resolve.

Yeah, but again, the sandbox system is not ideal for its purpose at this point. I won't say its not helpful, but the way its being used currently isnt hugely conductive to readability and such. But we're working that out, and ideally the stub/cleanup template and their associated cstegories will help identify pages in need of tlc in the future. In short, we'll be looking into sandboxes shortly. If you want to compile a list of ones you think are ready to leave the nest as it were, I/we would gladly take a look :)

im extremely glad to see it finally be moved to a page theres a better image of the creature from the behind the scenes of the movie showing off its model but i only got access to a low quality youtube video of it i got no way of finding this in better quality but i feel this would be ideal for a new infobox image

yeah the infobox picture is unideal, and I think the history should be expanded with more context, but I haven't seen the film, so I don't have a great baseline for work on the page.

well yeah, but it uses a lot of what I call "lore terms" that might require additional reading to understand. I like to add a bit of context, but that's probably just a me thing

Yeah. Any user can add pages, but we ask that they be relevant to the wiki under our scope guidelines, and that they be, you know, more than just a sentence or two :) that said, if youre not comfortable you can make a sandbox page, or ask other people like staff for help :)

I wanna watch Guyferd, but I don't know how. How can I watch the show?

Well, its really unfortunate, but only the first nine episodes have a fansub. Those episodes however, are on YouTube. The rest of the series is unsubbed, but can be seen on some other site. veoh if I recall correctly. The image quality isn't fantastic, and there are episodes that will make you wish you spoke Japanese, but most episodes have strong enough visual storytelling for you to follow the plot.

I'll have to check out the fansubs on YouTube. Also, do you know if the series if relatively family friendly?
