Vinestranglers are predatory insect monsters profiled in "Skull Island: Archives," a featurette included on home video releases of the 2017 Legendary Pictures film Kong: Skull Island.

Name

Vinestranglers are named after their resemblance to vines and preferred mode of attack.

Development

Like the Death Jackal, Psychovulture, Magma Turtle, Swamp Locust, and Icarus Tigris, the Vinestranglers were designed for Kong: Skull Island but ultimately cut from the film.

Design

Vinestrangers are slender insects who use dozens of tentacles to drag prey into their massive maws.

Personality

Vinestranglers are most active during dawn and dusk.
