Waiting for Gorgo
|
Waiting for Gorgo is a 2009 short film directed by Benjamin Craig. It serves as an unofficial sequel to the 1961 giant monster movie Gorgo.
Plot
Alexandra Collins investigates an agency known only as the DMOA for a Ministry of Defense audit. She finds a well-hidden office occupied by two elderly men named Archibald and Tunstall who ask her if Gorgo is coming. They explain to her that the name stands for the Department of Monsters and Oversized Animals, established after an attack on London some forty years ago by a giant monster. Unfortunately, it was whittled down over the decades by budget cuts as no new monsters emerged. As proof, they show Alexandra photographs of the two monsters; to her shock, one matches the cover of a DVD her flatmate owns. They claim the movie was a major part of the government’s cover-up. Just as she seems on the verge of convincing them that the DMOA is the result of a bureaucratic mix-up and Gorgo a creature of fiction, Tunstall walks over to a cabinet and removes an enormous tooth.
