Who's Afraid of Godzilla? is a picture book written by Marc Cerasini (as Di Kaiju) and illustrated by Bob Eggleton.

Plot

As the most powerful resident of Monster Island, Godzilla lives a lonely existence at the top of the tallest volcano. Whenever he tries to join Gigan, Megalon, Anguirus, Varan, Manda, Baragon, and Rodan in their games, they flee at the sight of him.

Determined to make friends elsewhere, Godzilla leaves the island. The other monsters watch him go with mixed feelings. Gigan and Megalon see an opportunity to take charge. In his travels, Godzilla approaches a ship, strides into a city, and encounters many of the world's great ocean and land animals, but all are frightened of him. Dejected, he swims back to Monster Island.

During his absence, Gigan and Megalon take over Monster Island and drive the other monsters into hiding. Only Anguirus makes a stand against them, but Gigan and Megalon easily overpower him, trapping him in the crater of the volcano. Just in time, Godzilla arrives on the scene, scaring away the two bullies with a mighty roar. To the surprise of all, Godzilla then pulls Anguirus out of the crater with his tail. Touched by his heroic act, Anguirus and all the monsters play with Godzilla for the rest of the day, leaving Gigan and Megalon in disbelief.
