World Children's Land in Godzilla vs. Gigan

World Children's Land (世界子供ランド,   Sekai Kodomo Rando) was a theme park being constructed by the M Space Hunter Nebula Aliens in the 1972 Toho Godzilla film, Godzilla vs. Gigan.

Design

Despite being under construction, the park included several attractions, such as a Ferris Wheel, towers in the shape of colorful mushrooms, a playground for kids, a library, a cafeteria, and various colorful and abnormally shaped buildings. The centerpiece of the park was the impressive, 50m tall Godzilla Tower. The tower was intended to function as a museum of past, present, and future monsters. As a contribution to the community, the tower also had lights for aircraft, and a space observatory on the top floor, accessible by an elevator for guests. The aliens also intended to create structures based on the other monster inhabitants of Monster Island and destroy the real monsters once their models were complete.

Godzilla vs. Gigan

After Gengo Kotaka's pitch for monster concepts to a comic book industry failed, Tomoko Tomoe proposed he bring his monster ideas to the construction committee behind World Children's Land. During the job interview, Kubota showed Gengo the plans for the park and explained his intentions behind building such an attraction as bringing the world what he deemed "absolute peace," driving attention to the Godzilla Tower as its main attraction. After Kubota asked Gengo for more ideas, he proposed the inclusion of more monsters, including his own designs for Shukra, the monster of homework, and Mamagon, the monster of strict mothers. His proposal was accepted, landing him a job at the theme park. Arriving for work the next day, Gengo bumped into a young woman fleeing from the park, who was being pursued by Gengo and other employees. Gengo noticed she had dropped a magnetic tape, which he collected and hid in his bag. After entering the building, Gengo met with the park's chairman, Fumio Sudo, who appeared suspiciously young to be in such a position. After Gengo is kidnapped by Machiko Shima and Shosaku Takasugi, he learns that Machiko's brother Takashi, who was working as a computer technician at the park, had been imprisoned after learning of his employers' true intentions. After an attempt to break him out of the Godzilla Tower, Gengo and Tomoko were captured themselves, with Kubota and Fumio, revealed to be the cockroach-like M Space Hunter Nebula Aliens, intended to keep their prisoners alive to serve as uniforms for the remainder of their troops. The aliens then broadcasted a signal from the tower to summon the space monsters Gigan and King Ghidorah to destroy Tokyo. In the commotion, Machiko and Shosaku arrived to aid them in their escape, and were able to retreat to the JSDF to report their discovery.

Godzilla and Anguirus arrived to challenge Gigan and Ghidorah at Tokyo Bay, with the fight eventually drawing to World Children's Land. During the battle, Godzilla was confused at the sight of the Godzilla Tower, and approached it curiously. The Nebula M Aliens took the opportunity to use the tower's laser on Godzilla, repeatedly blasting him and pinning him down. Anguirus attempted to aid his comrade, but was halted by Gigan and Ghidorah. Gengo and his companions returned to the park with the JSDF to destroy the Godzilla Tower's control room. Using one of Gengo's drawings to trick the aliens to open fire on explosives set in the tower's elevator, the head of the tower was destroyed in the explosion, along with the laser and control signal for Gigan and Ghidorah. The tide now turned in their favor, Godzilla and Anguirus regrouped and resumed the fight against their two adversaries, destroying much of the remaining theme park in the process.
