In the opening sequence of the film, Yata's boat is seen being attacked by [[Ebirah]], and destroyed. Yata's disappearance acts as a driving force for protagonist [[Ryota]]. After Yata's boat was destroyed, He floated to [[Infant Island]], where he spent the next month or so recuperating after the accident. Eventually, Ryota comes to the island, informing Yata of the state of affairs on Devil's Island where many Infant Islanders were being held captive. Yata and Ryota then sail to Devil's Island and become caught in a trap set by Ryota's comrades. The brothers are cut free and become part of a plan to rescue the [[Infant Island|Infant Islanders]]. Yata wishes to simply rush in and set them free, but is convinced by [[Yoshimura]] to use strategy. The group frees the captive islanders, but are then faced with the threat of a nuclear charge set to explode by the [[Red Bamboo]], a terrorist organization with a base on Devil's Island. In the opening sequence of the film, Yata's boat is seen being attacked by Ebirah, and destroyed. Yata's disappearance acts as a driving force for protagonist Ryota. After Yata's boat was destroyed, He floated to Infant Island, where he spent the next month or so recuperating after the accident.
