Yuji Sakai (酒井ゆうじ,   Sakai Yūji) is a Japanese artist, sculptor and modeler. He helped to design Yamata no Orochi and Godzilla for the films Orochi, the Eight-Headed Dragon and Godzilla 2000: Millennium, respectively, and served as a modeler for Godzilla and Godzilla Junior on Godzilla vs. Destoroyah. He also created a replica of the ShodaiGoji suit for a short film at the Eiji Tsuburaya Museum as well as a commercial for BOSS coffee. Sakai has produced over 170 garage kits at his personal workshop, the Yuji Sakai Modeling Studio[2] and has sculpted and painted figures for toy lines such as X-Plus and S.H. MonsterArts. He has made numerous public appearances at events, including as a guest at G-Fest 2000, and was interviewed with Hiroyuki Seshita for the Collector's Edition Blu-ray of GODZILLA: City on the Edge of Battle.
