Yukiko Takayama (高山 由紀子,   Takayama Yukiko) was a Japanese film screenwriter and director. She wrote the screenplay for the 1975 Godzilla film Terror of Mechagodzilla. In 2016, she published the novella 2075: Meister Titano's Counterattack, an unofficial sequel to the film, in Tokusatsu Hiho Vol. 5. Takayama died of natural causes in her Tokyo home on June 2, 2023.[2]

  1. Takayama's birth year has widely been given as 1945, including in the author biography from her 2011 novel The Tale of Genji: A Thousand Year Enigma.[1] However, upon her death, sources reported her age to be 83,[2] which would place her birth in 1940.
