Name
Rodan's Japanese name, Radon (ラドン, is a truncation of " Radon)Pteranodon." It may also have been chosen to suggest radiation. The katakana spelling of Radon is identical to that of Ladon, a dragon-like monster present in Greek mythology, though this may be nothing more than a coincidence. The name was changed to "Rodan" in English-speaking markets,[1] in order to avoid confusion with the element radon.[2] Toho eventually trademarked the name "Rodan," making it the monster's official English name.
Design
This Rodan's design is identical to the 1956 original Rodans' design, albeit possessing a light orange coloration and a light brown undertone. In addition, his beak is relatively longer.
Origins
Rodan was one of the many kaiju inhabiting the Earth in 136 Million BC, though whether or not he survived the events that occurred during the Xilien invasion is left unknown.
Personality
Rodan displays no developed personality, merely snatching Ebirah's prey out of self-preservative motives.
