Hello, and thank you for coming to Wikizilla.org. As you probably know, this new site is still in the early stages, but it should be mostly functional. That being said, if you experience any technical problems or errors please let myself or Titanollante know. Before you begin editing or contributing, be sure to read and follow our manual of style and site policy.
Something that should be addressed is the fact that Wikia will not be shutting down the old site, and will likely restore it to being called Wikizilla and intend for it to compete with the new site. However, we must make it incredibly clear that we do not support any further attempts to vandalize, troll or flame the old wiki, and neither do we encourage harassing the Wikia staff that are rebuilding the old site. If you intend to support the new Wikizilla and leave the old one behind, we recommend simply only visiting this Wikizilla and not the old one. Staying behind to argue and attempt to hinder Wikia's work on the old site will not accomplish anything. It is our hope that this new site will quickly become the definitive Godzilla wiki and completely overshadow Wikia's version, but that does not mean we support any further attempts to sabotage the old site. This may seem hypocritical because other staff and I have openly admitted to tearing down the old site in order to render it inferior to the new one from the start, however our efforts to do so have ended now that Wikia has stepped in.
Anyway, we hope you enjoy the new Wikizilla and will continue to contribute here for the foreseeable future. We have big plans in store, and cannot wait to share them with the Godzilla fanbase.

There's a lot of reasons. Some basic reasons are that Wikia doesn't allow a lot of customization of the skin or changing the main skin, and Wikia puts a lot of unnecessary regulations in place in terms of that like not being able to hide the "Fandom" sidebar module or display templates outside of the skin. They also put a metric ton of advertisements everywhere on the page which only somewhat go away if you're logged in which lags up the page in addition to being annoying and irrelevant. In addition, this makes it so we are completely sovereign and can do whatever we want with the site.
Another main reason for this was to be sort of a new beginning, a fresh start, for people to give us another chance, and we also did this so that we could be seen as more 'independent' and we could have real relations with other sites and to be taken more seriously.

I will try again to see if I can get it to work because people really liked having blogs, if I can't fix it then there's nothing I can do about it.
