This fan film was released onto YouTube on October 31st 2009 - initially in small parts but later as a single video - and was created by Chris Elchesyn (known on YouTube as 'Huntie'), who also starred in the movie, while Matt Frank did the promotional artwork for the movie.
You can find the film - along with a plot synopsis - here.

In my own opinion (and taking into account that this was a fan film made by just a few people instead of a big budget studio with a lot of people behind it), I enjoyed it. It put us into a set-up we hadn't seen before, introduced a new kaiju - complete with a bit about Godzilla's 'history' with this new monster - that I felt was interesting, the costumes and backgrounds were good, we had some cameos and references to other Godzilla movies/monsters (I think there's even a homage to MST3K if I'm not mistaken) and it managed to turn one of the most stupid monsters in the Godzilla franchise into something that could actually be scary.
It did have its flaws, of course; some of the voice editing needed to be sorted and the Kaiju Killer's design wasn't great, but those are minor complaints. For what it's worth, and taking into account it took four years to make and actually was finished (unlike Godzilla: Zero Hour), I'm happy I saw it. :)

What about you guys? What did you think of the movie?
