Remake of The Beast?

There are some similarities between the two films, including the monsters and the setting, and Ryfle claims it's a remake in Japan's Favorite Mon-Star: The Unauthorized Biography of "The Big G" (p. 322). I found something similar in a book interview with Dean Devlin (the text can be read here), but I am unable to read Japanese at the moment. - K14 (talk) 7:03, 17 December 2021 (UTC)
