I have been doing some research and the one kaiju who finally getting a comeback from Toho's line up is Gabara. Gabara if you dont include the Go-Green man from the 1970s which i welcome because its been at the time of Singular Point's release in April of 2021 It will be 52 years !!! since we last saw Gabara and i believe that is the longest drought from a Kaiju in Toho's lineup.

Please correct me if i am wrong ?

Gabara's last official appearance was in Godziban this year. But if we're excluding web series (and stock footage), Varan beats him by a year.

I am talking about just films not TV Series because i know Godziban is a on-going Toho series but films is what i am interested in.

Les (talkcontribs)

...but Singular Point is a TV series.

Anthonymcqueen (talkcontribs)

I know but when it comes to films Varan i believe has the longest drought i could be wrong ?

If you want to be real technical, the Giant Lizard and Giant Condor have not been seen since 1962 and 1966, respectively. Varan and Gorosaurus are tied for 1968.

The H-Man (talkcontribs)

Maguma's last appearance was in Gorath, released March 21, 1962 (prior to the August 11 release of King Kong vs. Godzilla the same year). The Griffon from Latitude Zero is also ahead of Gabara on the drought list.

The H-Man (talkcontribs)

And even if you ignore Go! Greenman, it will have been 51 years and about 4 months since Gabara's last appearance, not quite 52 years as claimed.

Anthonymcqueen (talkcontribs)

Come next year until Singular Point gets released it will be 52 years.

The H-Man (talkcontribs)

December 2020 will mark 51 years since Godzilla's Revenge (released December 20, 1969) -- Singular Point releases in April. That's 51 years and ~ 4 months difference, depending on what day GSP drops.

It's only 52 years if you look at the release years and ignore everything else about the dates. That was my point.

I assumed he was talking exclusively about monsters of the Godzilla franchise. In terms of general Toho monsters, then yeah there are plenty. If you want to count the Snowman, he hasn’t been seen since 1955.

Anthonymcqueen (talkcontribs)

Snowman well at least a ally of Godzilla it would be Varan ?

Les (talkcontribs)

In terms of giant Godzilla-series monsters, Giant Condor is probably the oldest. But most notably, Varan and Gorosaurus.

Astounding Beyond Belief (talkcontribs)

And never will be. :(
