Plot[edit | edit source]
A calm, clear day in Chicago, Illinois, was suddenly interrupted by Godzilla, who sailed to the city and destroyed the ship on his way. Other giant monsters, such as Anguirus, Manda, Varan, Gezora, Ebirah and Zilla, also begin to attack the city. Noticing this, Commander Amanda Lexington calls Lieutenant Matt Kennedy, reports him the incident and informs him about the highlights of the kaiju's history, such as Godzilla's attack in 1954, his fights with Kong and Mothra and the operation "Destroy All Monsters" in 1999. She instructs Matt about piloting the top-secret military weapons, "X-Rider".
Matt and desperate soldiers begin bravely guarding the city and evacuating civilians. The army easily manages to defeat Manda, and later Zilla. Captain Kumi Wakabayashi learns that the monsters are mysteriously controlled from Monster Island. Immediately after that, Mechagodzilla launches in Japan, and Wakabayashi reports that he is ready to fight the terrible monsters.
