Planned 1963

Monster Island (怪獣島,   Kaijūtō) is an unmade 1963 kaiju series developed by Toho and Studio Zero.

History

Monster Island was planned by producer Toho Jin Usami who intended the series to divert stock footage of monsters from all eight of Toho's kaiju films, including the original Godzilla film.[1] Additionally, Usami suggested that the series be produced by Studio Zero's Shotaro Ishinomori, Fujiko Fujio, Jiro Tsunoda, and Shinichi Suzuki.[1] The proposal was derailed after the rights were granted to the United States.[1]
