The World Sinks Except Japan (日本以外全部沈没,   Nihon Igai Zenbu Chinbotsu, lit. "Everything Sinks Except Japan") is a 2006 tokusatsu comedy disaster film directed, co-produced and co-written by Minoru Kawasaki, with digital effects directed by Hisafumi Nejihashi. A spoof of Shinji Higuchi's Sinking of Japan (2006), it is based on Yasutaka Tsutsui's 1973 short story of the same name, which itself parodies Sakyo Komatsu's novel Japan Sinks. Funded by the The World Sinks Except Japan Production Committee (consisting of The Klockworx, Tornado Film, Wedge Holdings, Kadokawa Herald Pictures, Japan Digital Contents Trust, and Rivertop), it was produced by Rivertop with special effects produced by the Tokusatsu Lab. The film was released to Japanese theaters on September 2, 2006.
