Alternate names Mutant Space Worm, Scout
Allies Alien Spaceship
Enemies Humanity
First appearance 10 Cloverfield Lane

An unnamed alien created by Paramont Pictures appeared in the 2016 film, 10 Cloverfield Lane.

The alien is a quadrupedal creature with hexagonal-shaped, grey, metallic armor. It has slender arms that end in three fingers and long hind legs. The head appears to be a nonexistent stub at first, but can open up with its false mouth which its true head comes out of. The true head is a pale leach-like head with 4 fang or horn-like structures on its top and bottom. The true mouth has rows of retractable teeth which were used to forcibly remove Michelle's homemade gas mask.

10 Cloverfield Lane

Only appearing near the end of the film after the bunker explodes, the alien is encased within the Alien Spaceship which flies overhead ready to deploy the creature. Michelle tries to enter a nearby car as a means of escape, only to cause the alarm to go off and attract the now-deployed extraterrestrial. After escaping to the shed, Michelle peaks through some cracks and witnesses the creature nudging the car from behind. The creature then proceeds to investigate the shed, peering its head through a panel door. Looking in the opposite direction of Michelle, the creature leaves, prompting Michelle to sneak out and run towards the farmhouse. The creature soon became aware of Michelle and began to briefly chase after her towards the house before running offscreen after the blaring sounds of the ship are heard. It later reappears, cornering Michelle into a truck as it forcibly removes her mask with its retractable teeth before the ship lifts the truck up. It is not seen again after this, and whether or not it climbed back up the ship's tendrils to be destroyed alongside it, or simply ran off is unexplained.
