In the real world

In the Kaiju Multiverse

  • A meteorite strikes the Earth, landing in the Ogasawara Trench and awakening Godzilla. The meteorite begins to set into motion a series of natural disasters around the planet, including typhoons, earthquakes, rising water levels, and landslides. Battra and Mothra team up to fight Godzilla and defeat him, but only after Battra dies. (Godzilla vs. Mothra)
  • According to a plaque seen at the end of Episode 23, My Home is Earth, the events of Ultraman take place in 1993. This was later retconned by Tsuburaya Productions with the release of The Return of Ultraman in 1971, instead placing the events of the series in 1966.
