We are the Bilusaludo. Our home planet, the third planet in the Bilusaludia Binary System, was swallowed by an accursed black hole and destroyed. We are requesting immigration to this solar system's third planet. If you accept, we promise to eradicate your planet's greatest threat, Godzilla.

Halu-Elu Dolu-Do introduces the Bilusaludo to mankind (GODZILLA: Planet of the Monsters)

The Bilusaludo (ビルサルド,   Birusarudo) are a race of extraterrestrials that first appear in the 2017 Godzilla film, GODZILLA: Planet of the Monsters. They are one of the three member races of the United Earth, the others being the Humans and Exif.

Name

The Bilusaludo's Japanese name, "Birusarudo" (ビルサルド), may come partially from "saru" (サル), the Japanese word for "monkey," "simian," or "ape," a reference to the ape-like Black Hole Planet 3 Aliens upon which the Bilusaludo are based. In the English-language press notes provided to SciFi Japan by Toho, this race is called the Bilsaldians.[1] On the official website for GODZILLA: Planet of the Monsters and in the film's English dub and subtitles on Netflix, their English name is given as Bilusaludo.[2]

Design

The Bilusaludo superficially resemble ordinary humans, with dark skin and gray or dark brown hair. The Bilusaludo are all especially muscular and in excellent physical condition. Bilusaludo age more slowly than humans, so Mulu-Elu Galu-Gu resembles a 35 year-old man despite being 60 years old, Rilu-Elu Belu-Be resembles a 35 year-old man despite being 55 years old, and Halu-Elu Dolu-Do resembles a 40 year-old man despite being 70 years old. The only major difference in appearance between Bilusaludo and humans is that the Bilusaludos' ears are pointed.

Origins

After failing to prevent their home planet from being enveloped by the black hole Cygnus X-1, the Bilusaludo began wandering space to search for a new inhabitable planet to emigrate to. In 2036 they arrived on Earth, where the native humans were embattled against the terrifying creature known as Godzilla. The Bilusaludo offered to destroy Godzilla in exchange for asylum on the Earth.

Post-Millennium Series

GODZILLA: Planet of the Monsters

The Bilusaludo and Exif joined with the embattled Humans of Earth to form the United Earth, an alliance with the goal of saving the planet from the kaiju overrunning it. However, the combined resources of all three races were useless against Godzilla, the most powerful of the kaiju. A select group of humans were evacuated from Earth by the United Earth in 2048 aboard the Aratrum. When the humans' new homeworld, Tau-e, proved uninhabitable, a United Earth force composed of several Humans, Exif and Bilusaludo returned to Earth aboard the Aratrum to reclaim the planet from Godzilla. When they arrived, they found that 20,000 years had passed, and that Earth was now an alien planet ruled by Godzilla.

Technology

  • The Bilusaludo value scientific skill and rationalism. Unlike the religious Exif, the Bilusaludo are atheistic and stress the importance of using science and technology to survive and adapt to a hostile natural world.[3] As such, the Bilusaludo are skilled engineers, and provided the United Earth with advanced new avionic and vetronic technology,[4] as well as biological weapons such as the Anti-Nuclear Energy Bacteria.[5] As such, most Bilusaludo in the United Earth served as military engineers.[5] Thanks to advanced medical technology that includes the use of artificial organs, the average life expectancy for a Bilusaludo is 200 years.[6] Their most groundbreaking form of technology is Nanometal, an autonomous metal material made up of nanomachines that can be used for a variety of purposes. The Bilusaludo used Nanometal to build their ultimate weapon: Mechagodzilla.

Trivia

  • The Bilusaludo are inspired by the Black Hole Planet 3 Aliens, as their homeworld is said to be the third planet orbiting a black hole, and like the Black Hole Planet 3 Aliens the Bilusaludo helped to construct Mechagodzilla.[6]
  • Just what the name of the Bilusaludo's home, Bilusaludia, refers to is inconsistent. In GODZILLA: Planet of the Monsters, Halu-Elu Dolu-Do says that the Bilusaludo's homeworld is "the third planet in the Bilusaludia binary system." However, the film's theater program instead states that Bilusaludia is the third planet of the black hole Cygnus X-1.
