This page is a list of minor monsters from Toho-licensed media. This is defined as any kaiju, kaijin or animals whose roles generally have little overall relevance in the media they are featured in, and who are not trademarked (or otherwise prominently featured) characters. As a result, this page doesn't include characters such as Meganulon or Meganula, Fairy Mothra, Garu Garu, Barem, and Ghogo, who are all trademarked.

Trilobite.jpg
Godzilla (1954)
Main article: Trilobite.
In Godzilla, a living trilobite was discovered by Dr. Kyohei Yamane in one of Godzilla's footprints on Odo Island. Yamane concluded from the creature's presence in the footprint along with the age of the sediment found with it that Godzilla must have been living in a deep underwater pocket since the Jurassic before being disturbed by H-bomb testing. In Godzilla Against Mechagodzilla, Dr. Tokumitsu Yuhara created a cybernetic "Mecha-Trilobite." This technology would lay the groundwork for the construction of Kiryu using the original Godzilla's skeleton.
Giant Lizard
(大トカゲ,   Ōtokage)

Main article: Giant Octopus.
In King Kong vs. Godzilla, the Giant Octopus attacked a village on Farou Island before being driven off by King Kong. The Giant Octopus was also featured in the unused alternate ending for Frankenstein vs. Baragon, where it appeared from the depths and dragged Frankenstein underwater after his victory over Baragon. The Giant Octopus' last film appearance came the following year in The War of the Gargantuas, where it attacked a boat and fought Gaira at sea.

Height: ~2 meters[1]

The Giant Praying Mantises were native to Solgell Island, and stalked its jungles at night. When the scientists' weather-controlling experiment went awry and triggered unrelenting radioactive storms, three of these mantises were mutated into giant monsters dubbed Kamacuras.

The Maneater appeared when Ichiro Miki walked in front of it, distracted by watching Minilla trying to fire atomic breath in front of Godzilla but failing. The Maneater sneakily grabbed Ichiro, put him up to its body, and covered his mouth so he couldn't talk. Ichiro then woke up from his dream and realized that he was being kidnapped by robbers.

  • The Maneater's Japanese name, Hitokui Shokubutsu, literally translates to "man-eating plant," referencing how it grabbed Ichiro Miki and tried to eat him. A 2008 Cast ornament of the creature gives it the full name Man-Eating Plant of Dream Monster Island (夢の怪獣島の人食い植物,   Yume no Kaijū-tō no Hitokui Shokubutsu).

Aoki brought the completed robot to the enclosure where BabyGodzilla was being held by the United Nations Godzilla Countermeasures Center and cared for by Azusa Gojo. Aoki let Azusa ride on the robot with him, but as they passed over Baby's enclosure the robot sputtered and suddenly dropped out of the sky, crashing in the enclosure. Both Aoki and Azusa were unhurt, though the Pteranodon Robot was damaged. Aoki later repaired the Pteranodon Robot and used it to exit the Garuda during the battle between Godzilla and Super Mechagodzilla.

Godzilla: Legends #5 When Bryson Allworth was sent to climb Godzilla in order to take tissue samples from him for government research, he found a new species of bird on his back. It had a nest with its mate and ate an amphibian using its long tongue. Bryson referred to them as a "weird new species of bird." The fanmade name Mutant Bird was coined by Toho Kingdom.
