"Frankenstein vs. the Subterranean Monster")[a] is a 1965 tokusatsu kaiju film directed by Ishiro Honda and written by Kaoru Mabuchi from a story by Reuben Bercovitch and Jerry Sohl, with special effects by Eiji Tsuburaya. Produced by Toho with co-funding from Benedict Pictures,[b] it stars Tadao Takashima, Nick Adams, Kumi Mizuno, Yoshio Tsuchiya, Koji Furuhata, and Jun Tazaki. The film was released to Japanese theaters by Toho on August 8, 1965. American International Pictures released an edited English-dubbed version titled Frankenstein Conquers the World to American theaters on July 8, 1966. |
