Article description: (description ) This attribute controls the content of the description and og:description elements. | Gen Urobuchi (虚淵 玄, Urobuchi Gen) is a Japanese novelist, visual novel writer, and anime screenwriter. Urobuchi began his career writing visual novels in the early 2000s, but became most well-known for writing the acclaimed anime series Puella Magi Madoka Magica in 2011. Since then, Urobuchi has written for anime such as Psycho Pass and Fate/Zero and tokusatsu series such as Kamen Rider Gaim. Urobuchi's work is characterized by dark and nihilistic themes, prominent gore, and tragic plot twists which often involve the brutal deaths of main characters, earning him the nickname "Urobutcher" among fans. |
