The Karyu (火龍,   Hiryū, lit. Fire Dragon) is an aerial vehicle used by the Earth Defense Force that first appeared in the 2004 Godzilla Template:GFilmC, Godzilla: Final Wars.

History

The Karyu fires its laser at Anguirus in Godzilla: Final Wars

The Karyu was dispatched to stop Anguirus's rampage in Shanghai, and fought him to a stalemate. Anguirus was eventually recaptured by the Xiliens, but released again when their plans were uncovered. The Karyu was sent against Anguirus again, but was destroyed.

Weapons

• Flight.
• Can discharge a large electronic ray from its central cannon.
• Capable of firing eight MA-PM020 heat seeking proton missiles, simultaneously, from the hull.
• Equipped with two Electronic Particle cannons.

• The Karyu's Japanese name, which translates to "Fire Dragon," is likely a reference to a Kilaak UFO of the same name from Destroy All Monsters.
