The Transmission Balloon (通信気球 is a device created by Tsūshin Kikyū, lit. Communication Balloon)Toho that first appears in the 2017 animated Godzilla film, GODZILLA: Planet of the Monsters.
History

GODZILLA: Planet of the Monsters
After successfully landing on Earth, the Transmission Balloon was launched by the United Earth to act as a transmitter, in order for the drones in the atmosphere to relay their communications. The balloon's connection was later assessed to be optimal by Rilu-elu Belu-be, however communications were still limited due to the dense fog present in the atmosphere.
GODZILLA: City on the Edge of Battle
After regrouping with Metphies, Haruo Sakaki and the other survivors of the disastrous battle against Godzilla Earth used a Transmission Balloon to contact the Aratrum.
