Template:Infopelicula Upcoming Heritage is a crowdfunded Godzilla fan film produced by Perception Entertainment, Vintage Reel Productions, and Luna Digital Ltd. Originally titled Godzilla: Heritage and planned as a feature-length film, the project was curtailed by threatened legal action from Toho on the grounds of likelihood of confusion. A version of the film running approximately 20 minutes will be released online to its Kickstarter backers at an unknown date.[1]

Description

Since Godzilla's first attack in 1954, mankind has been under constant threat from gigantic creatures known as "Superfauna" - animals mutated by the coming of the nuclear age and man's abuse of the atom's destructive power. Humanity was united against a common foe and for almost 60 years, worked collectively to study and combat the creatures as millions died, cities crumbled and the world's economy continued to collapse. Now, the world seems to finally be bringing the threat under control. Jack Martin is a correspondent for United World News and the grandson of Pulitzer Prize winning journalist Steve Martin, who's riveting coverage of the 1954 raid on Tokyo made him a legend. With his grandfather's shadow always overhead, Jack has spent his career attempting to forge his own legacy, showing great promise as a journalist before spiraling into depression. In the process, he has severely damaged both his reputation and his marriage to family friend, Kaori Ogata. Before leaving the agency, Jack decides to travel to a small pacific island with his life-long friend Mitch Lawrence, who now runs UWN's old newspaper division. While the two wait to attend a ground-breaking ceremony for a new building, Godzilla suddenly reappears after nearly 30 years of absence...and he hasn't returned alone. With the King of the Monsters' threat looming, Jack must decide whether to flee or finally embrace his heritage and report the attack as it happens - risking not only his life, but the lives of his best friend and his wife.[2]

Development

The idea for Heritage was originally conceived by Greg Graves in 2009, the same year the film's Facebook page was created. The page did not publish a post until 2013, coinciding with promotion of the film at G-Fest XX. Rashaad Santiago, winner of the sixth season of the SyFy game show Face Off, was announced as the film's creature artist in November 2013. The completed Godzilla suit was revealed at Denver Comic Con in June 2014, followed by the launch of a Kickstarter several days later with a $25,000 goal. It was unsuccessful, ending on July 17, 2014, with $16,025 raised.[3] Phase One of a second Kickstarter campaign began the next day with a $10,000 goal, concluding with $19,554 in funds.[4]

The HeritageGoji (ヘリテイジゴジ,   HeriteijiGoji) is the Godzilla suit design made for the 2015 Godzilla fan film, Godzilla: Heritage.

Name

The HeritageGoji's name comes from the name of the movie it was created for, Godzilla: Heritage, and Goji, which comes from Godzilla's Japanese name, Gojira (ゴジラ). This is the official name for the suit as seen in the Kickstarter page.

Detail

The HeritageGoji has a very bulky body, rough skin textures and colors, and a slightly leaned over posture, somewhat like the LegendaryGoji and the Millennium designs. The forearms are very long and much more developed than the other designs. The dorsal plates, skin, legs and tail seem to be heavily inspired by crocodiles or iguanas. The head looks like a mix of the ShodaiGoji and the LegendaryGoji, and has large, crooked yellow teeth. This design also seems to sport pure blue eyes.
