Giant God Warrior Appears in Tokyo is a 2012 tokusatsu kaiju short film co-produced by Khara Corporation and Studio Ghibli, and the first live-action project of the latter. It serves as a prequel to the 1984 film Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind, showing how the God Warriors wiped out modern human civilization during the Seven Days of Fire. Originally, the film was made as a demonstration of practical effects for the "Tokusatsu - Special Effects Museum-Craftsmanship of Showa and Heisei Eras Seen Through Miniatures" exhibit at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Tokyo. It received a theatrical release on November 17, 2012, in Japan, playing before Evangelion: 3.0 You Can (Not) Redo.
