Magnitude 7.9 (地震列島 is a Jishin Rettō, lit. Earthquake Archipelago)1980 disaster film produced by Toho and distributed in the United States by Shochiku Films of America. The film was released to Japanese theaters on August 30, 1980 and to American theaters on February 5, 1982. It is a followup to a TV movie from the same year entitled Giant Tokyo Earthquake Magnitude 8.1, also produced by Toho.
