52 feet??
I thought someone said 12 feet…
Les
(talkcontribs)
I thought it was 12 because the text was so tiny, but I've since discovered the theater program says 52.
LindenHS
(talkcontribs)
Damn!
a lot bigger then expected
Les
(talkcontribs)
For the record, I don't think these numbers are actually accurate to what appears in the final film.
The Hellhawks supposedly have a 70 meter wingspan and are between 4,600 and 14,000 tons, despite not being much larger than a human.
Zillaman98
(talkcontribs)
I think those estimates may be based on the Yoshuma version
it was much bigger from the concept pieces
like actual kaiju/sub titan sized
LindenHS
(talkcontribs)
Actually it seems there are regional size differences… they have Northern and Southern Hemispheres on some of them if people are translating right. So it could be the case there are Sub-Titan variations. Like the Warbats being 428 feet is lizard measuring (snout to vent) most likely so they are a little longer counting the tail, but some concept art shows them as much longer (though it might be perspective admittedly).
have you seen these hemisphere things mentioned? I want to know if it’s actually the case cause that would be fascinating to me
Les
(talkcontribs)
There are distinctions made between Northern and Southern Hemisphere for their weights, but nothing else.
Zillaman98
(talkcontribs)
Honestly wont be surprised if we get to see the giant "Yoshuma" version in a future comic at some point
Zillaman98
(talkcontribs)
Inconsistent stats are not new
unrelated but the biggest example in recent history of this is the MH movie Rathalos stated to be only 14 meters tall but its as long as a Boeing E-3 Sentry
LindenHS
(talkcontribs)
The MV has been pretty consistent, the only issues being fanmade stats getting mixed up with official ones and the Toyline for SH I think it was giving MG the wrong height.
Zillaman98
(talkcontribs)
Shmonsterarts doesn't list stats so i have no idea what you are alluding to
"The MV has been pretty consistent,"
...Now that's funny.
LindenHS
(talkcontribs)
Find me where they have been inconsistent that wasn’t due to fan information or the discredited GVK opening.
it was from a toy of MG that had stats, also a fanmade stat sheet passed as real due to being made to look real from a fan Twitter
Zillaman98
(talkcontribs)
i dont think anyone here knows what you are talking about at all given MGs stats on its page come elsewhere and never once a fanmade image has been brought up in terms of stats nor do i see why it matters given it was never an issue on its page
also i was more or less alluding to the inconsistent tone of the Monsterverse and canon issues
Zillaman98
(talkcontribs)
SH monsterarts doesnt provide stats for any of its figures i think no one here has any idea what you are talking about honestly because this image you speak of has never been addressed here and has never been an issue on Mechagodzillas page.
LindenHS
(talkcontribs)
It’s on it just asked someone who owns it. I think it’s the collector edition.
going on your comment on being irrelevant the thread is on sizes which are largely consistent so your bringing in off topic things to that is irrelevant to the conversation.
Zillaman98
(talkcontribs)
no Monsterarts figures provide stats period nor has this ever been addressed on mechagodzillas page
i have now repeated that three times
Les
(talkcontribs)
What is the stat that's wrong on the figure?
Zillaman98
(talkcontribs)
From my Knowledge no Shmonsterarts figures provide stats so i honestly have no clue what this guy is talking about he also contradicted himself saying the SH monsterarts stat sheet was fanmade so a still have no clue what he is going on about
source i collect them i dont see anything on any of the boxes that looked like stat cards
LindenHS
(talkcontribs)
Those were separate things… the fanmade stat thing is based on what I was talking about
Zillaman98
(talkcontribs)
Why does this matter if we already have his stats?
Les
(talkcontribs)
If there's an official figure that gives the wrong height, that would be worth mentioning somewhere.
Zillaman98
(talkcontribs)
Im not sure if that's the case honestly
because no SHMA figures previously ever gave stats with any of the figures they produced
and to my knowledge there is no "collectors edition" of SHMA GvK Mechagodzilla because i would of heard or saw something about it because i keep up to date on the SHMA line.
Les
(talkcontribs)
Instead of insisting it's wrong without giving him a chance to explain, maybe wait to see if he gives proof.
Zillaman98
(talkcontribs)
I am honestly confused because this is the first time i ever heard of stats provided with SHMA figures
plus i never heard of this so called GvK MG "Collectors edition" figure when I'm pretty sure i would had saw something about it on TK or Kaiju news outlet
SHMA to my knowledge has never produced a figure thats considered a "Collectors edition"
LindenHS
(talkcontribs)
466 feet tall
as someone said it’s based on toy scaling which was said to be correct.
- Godzilla 6.3 in = 393
- Mechagodzilla is 7.5 in = 466
it was included with a preorder according to someone I spoke with. I will ask if they can specify if they mean the toy height and are just using the scaling to say that.
Zillaman98
(talkcontribs)
Putting Toys next to each other and making an estimate isn't a source
LindenHS
(talkcontribs)
So got clarification … they don’t own it by legal means so dropping that. Stat sheet they had is probably not legit.
so as said this is a talk on sizes, so this means the MV has been consistent there.
Zillaman98
(talkcontribs)
Im not actually aware of any GVK shma bootlegs
first i heard of such even
LindenHS
(talkcontribs)
Do lit a fire under someone and turns out they lied in order to disprove MG’s official height… because they don’t want him so small.
they based it off the toy and scaling it up as proof.
So the answer is someone lied to prove a head canon. So on that the MV has had no unexplained inaccuracies on sizes.
Zillaman98
(talkcontribs)
Ok
Has nothing to do with his page at all still
I ultimately fail to see what you are getting at because the page doesnt have any stat issues.
LindenHS
(talkcontribs)
Not knockoffs… I mean jacked shipments.
Les
(talkcontribs)
I've got one. The male and female MUTOs were supposed to be approximately 200 and 300 feet tall respectively, according to the G14 bonus features. But the Monarch file on them that was released during the Twitter watchalong says the males' "average" height is 281 feet - likely a typo of "218" which is closer to the intended 200 feet. The same file says the females are 298, which is basically 300.
LindenHS
(talkcontribs)
Average, they are individuals of a species.
but the Twitter Watchalong was being done on the fly and honestly much of that was probably unreliable.
Les
(talkcontribs)
Yes, average, but that implies the male from G14 is unusually small. It's more than likely the case that they meant the average to be closer to 200 feet.
To your second point, I believe people asked Legendary on Twitter and they doubled down on it.
LindenHS
(talkcontribs)
True…I know they did, I think it was in reference to the average size but otherwise to save face maybe.
Male was a runt, which is actually hilarious if you think about it as he had a huge food source… I wonder if it was a genetic thing?
LindenHS
(talkcontribs)
Wait height?
Length would make sense but… length in this case is about 109ft maybe more? Less then 120 though?
Les
(talkcontribs)
The program says 身長 for the Arachno-claws, which is height. It might mean their height if they stood up on two legs (so the equivalent of length).
LindenHS
(talkcontribs)
Someone told me if you put a space between 身 and 長 it says body length? Is that right?
cause I think there is one but I can’t tell.
Les
(talkcontribs)
That's not how that works... "body length" as it pertains to kaiju stats is usually given as 体長. There are no spaces in the Japanese language.
LindenHS
(talkcontribs)
Ah thanks, thought that sounded off.
odd usage of height, they don’t look that big in height so I’d think it’s length, but probably got to wait for them to get an English stat sheet hopefully.
it feels like a good time for a Watchalong!
LindenHS
(talkcontribs)
Ugh… those stat things keep using height as length and it’s kinda weird
MonsterverseTitan
(talkcontribs)
Does the theater program give us information like what the scientific names for the Hellhawks and Arachno-claws are, as well as any other stats for the Warbats and Hellhawks.
Also, in the theater program is there any info on the Foetodons.
LindenHS
(talkcontribs)
Sorry thought that said names.
not as far as I can tell, and nothing on the Hollow Earth lizard.
LindenHS
(talkcontribs)
Rock Critters is the official name for the “Arachno-Claws”.
Hellhawks and Warbats are the correct names.
stats I can provide in a bit but Warbats are 428ft long
Zillaman98
(talkcontribs)
That wasn't the question for what he was asking for
he wants the scientific names
Warbats is Vellum Vespertilio for example he means this
Les
(talkcontribs)
The Hellhawks' species is called Accipiter infernum (アクシピターインファーナム); the Rock Creatures' species is "under investigation."
There are a few stats for the Hellhawks. Wingspan, cranium density(?), claw impact force, top airspeed, and top echolocation frequency.
LindenHS
(talkcontribs)
Okay I need translations please and thank you!
been trying but Japanese is the language I have the worst time translating
MonsterverseTitan
(talkcontribs)
You know what's funny, I did a thing earlier last week where I made my own scientific names for the monsters that weren't really given a scientific name, and the one that I wrote for the Hellhawk was Infernum Accipiter.
LindenHS
(talkcontribs)
That’s hilarious, it’s a weird thing when you call something and it’s like a letter off or backwards right?
MonsterverseTitan
(talkcontribs)
Yeah, it is cause when I was making the scientific names for the creatures, I tried to make the scientific name be related to either their powers or what they are.
LindenHS
(talkcontribs)
I do that for this thing I do on Reddit where I make fanmade creatures for the MV, 99% of the scientific names are a bit on the nose but explain EVERYTHING about the animal typically or act as a massive neon sign saying RUN.
it seems the MV canonically does that to a degree…
