Plot
K'vanni recounts to one of the builders the story of how her hair turned white. She and Kong had gone into the mines to explore against instructions, and she was taken to a monster's nest after being attacked. she witnessed one hatch before being swarmed by them from above. When she awoke, she was told she had been found with white hair. Kong was then knocked out with gas and she was taken by guards. The builders experimented on the infant Kong, using Gret the former Kong trainer's notes on how to mix different scent triggers, and forced him into a savage state. Gret then arrived to confront them for creating a torture pit, but they threw him in and was nearly killed by the wild Kong before it escaped. Ewata then arrived and finished off her dear friend. K'vanni awoke tied between two posts, with the new Shaman assuring her that this was what the gods wanted, and what the people needed to return the gods to their favor. They then believed that Valla was coming to accept their offering, but it was the scarred Kong instead.
