Jiro was a friend of Akira Ichinose from college. later in life he joined INTERPOL. He helps Ichinose to investigate the home of Dr. Mafune. when that lead turns up blank, the film's focus shifts to Ichinose, leaving Jiro as a minor character until Ichinose is taken prisoner, and Jiro and a group of INTERPOL officers rescue him in the final act of the film.
