i have too but i recall seeing a video of behind the scenes thing that i can no longer find of director himself said godzilla was an influence that seems like disregarding what the second rule on the scope for misc said.
"Include a giant monster and demonstrate significant influence from or on the Godzilla, King Kong, and/or Gamera series, beyond the mere presence of a giant monster."
so why is it ok when one film (cloverfield for example) says its an influence but not this one?
that seems kind of dismissive to what the director himself said and I'm not sure who are we to say its not if the man himself said it if memory serves correctly.
