I honestly still don't see it. What you're describing as "stripes" just look like shading to me. Maybe there's something with the topmost panel in Comic Stripes.png, but they aren't consistent across panels. She seems to have green in her mouth tentacles too, but then it's gone in the bottom panel.
Bernie's face there has a similar effect, with lines and splotches of color to indicate light and shading. But I wouldn't call him "striped" lol.
