These guys [Criterion] @1:07:37 Squadron of T33A Shooting Stars. One piloted by Yoshio Tsuchiya's character Tajima with Hiroshi Koizumi's character Shoichi Tsukioka seated behind. First closeup of one of the planes @1:07:54 positively identifies as a T33A Shooting Star by the wing-mounted fuel tanks and longer fuselage (these have JA-315 letters on the side). Repeated closeups show the same. Minoru Chiaki's Koji Kobayashi crashes the Cessna he is flying at 1:09:00. 1:39:30 They begin bombing the mountaintop. @1:11:30 Shooting Stars retreat to formulate plan. @1:12:40 Godzilla had been buried up to the neck in ice, but frees himself.

@1:15:55-1:16:26 Squadron of F-86 Sabres, explicitly different from the Shooting Stars used previously, arrive. (Identified by no fuel tanks on wings and shorter fuselage. They have JADF written on the sides.) Tajima pilots one. @1:16:35 We get a couple closeups of the F-86 shooting missiles at the mountaintop to begin burying Godzilla. Every shot after this shows the same planes with the same JADF lettering, and no Shooting Stars.
