Article description: (description ) This attribute controls the content of the description and og:description elements. | First Lieutenant Akane Yashiro (家城 茜, Yashiro Akane) is the human protagonist of the 2002 Toho Godzilla film Godzilla Against Mechagodzilla, also appearing in a minor role in its 2003 sequel Godzilla: Tokyo SOS. A Type 90 Maser Cannon operator for the JSDF's Anti-Megalosaurus Force, Akane unintentionally caused the death of her comrades in a battle against Godzilla in 1999. Subsequently reassigned to a desk job, Akane was recruited to become a pilot for the Kiryu Squad in 2003, receiving the rank of Second Lieutenant.[1] Despite the odds against her, Akane earned the respect of her squad and played a key role in the battle between Kiryu and Godzilla in Tokyo. By 2004, she had been promoted to First Lieutenant[2] and sought further training in the United States. |
