Godzilla Interception Operation Awaji
Godzilla Interception Operation Awaji is an upcoming attraction in the Nijigen no Mori theme park on Awaji Island, Japan. Scheduled to open on October 10, 2020, it will have four components: a theater which will play an exclusive short film, a zipline leading guests into the mouth of a massive Godzilla statue, a shooting game, and the Godzilla Museum.
Short film
Godzilla Interception Operation Awaji's attraction video, produced by Toho, will explain how Godzilla became interred on Awaji Island. He first attacked the island at the beginning of the Meiji era, coming ashore during a typhoon. When he returned during the 21st century, the JSDF lured him to Nijigen no Mori. Explosives planted in the ground kept him in place long enough for them to fire a drug-infused missile into his mouth, rendering him immobile. The National Godzilla Awaji-shima Research Center was established to monitor him.
