"Giant Monster of the Sky Rodan") is a 1956 tokusatsu kaiju film directed by Ishiro Honda and written by Takeshi Kimura and Takeo Murata from a story by Ken Kuronuma, with special effects by Eiji Tsuburaya. Produced by Toho, it was the company's first color kaiju film and the first film to feature the famous kaiju Rodan. The film was released to Japanese theaters by Toho on December 26, 1956. The King Brothers produced an edited English-dubbed version of the film which was released to American theaters by Distributors Corporation of America on August 6, 1957. |
